Groundfighting

Ground fighting techniques, because sometimes fighters end up on the ground

While TKD is a blocking, kicking and punching martial art, it is a fact that fighters often go to the ground. In true self defense this can happen simply because a person is attacked from behind by surprise when loading groceries into the car, or from tripping or being pushed to the ground during the conflict. So it only makes sense for the well rounded martial artist to have a good understanding of how to fight from the ground, if necessary.

This included demonstrating the three specific patterns required for this rank along with selected patterns from the previous ranks, demonstrating multiple techniques selected by the test board, performing several hand or foot breaks through 1 inch thick pine boards, sparring and step sparring demonstrations, and performing a pre-choreographed self defense routine.
